Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry
3rd Friday every month - 9:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
BUMC volunteers help restock shelves. The Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry is a not-for-profit, volunteer agency that is directed and operated by community and local church volunteers residing throughout the greater Fox Valley. We are also a member of the Northern Illinois Food Bank Cooperative. Those who visit and use our Food Pantry are our neighbors and friends: people with disabilities, seniors, low income families, and families who have lost their jobs.
Appalachia Service Project
Youth Summer Mission Trip
Appalachia Service Project (ASP) provides one of the most rewarding structured service opportunities in the nation -- bringing thousands of volunteers from around the country to rural Central Appalachia to repair homes for low-income families. But ASP is more than just a home repair program. Yes, Appalachia's poorest families urgently need your help, but they can help change your life, too. Because when you change the lives of others, they have a way of changing you.
CHIP IN Batavia
CHIP IN Batavia is a local initiative that is dedicated to helping and meeting the needs of the 40-plus homeless families in Batavia. It was has grown to be a exceptional outreach program that includes many wonderful volunteers, businesses and churches that are also stepping up to help with their time, talent and money. Here is how you can get involved:
Bikes: Teen through adult size, used. Drop off at All Spoked Up in Batavia, and they will refurbish.
Gas/Grocery Gift Cards: Many of the families are commuting a great distance to keep their children in schools. Other families with life-threatening medical conditions must travel to and from Chicago. These are just a couple of examples.
Jewel Cuisinart Stickers: These will be pooled to allow for cookware for transitioning families.
If you are interested in helping to support this wonderful program, contact Barb Theuerkauf at firstname.lastname@example.org or (630) 988-2559. We will also have a drop-off box for gift cards and stickers in the church office.
